What a spray booth costs to run

Enter your electricity price and how the booth is used. The page works out the annual consumption and the annual bill from the rated power on the specification sheet.

Your inputs

Diesel and gas heat the air by burning fuel; electricity then only runs the fans, controls and lights. Electric heating draws its power through the heating elements.

Pre-filled from the specification sheet when you pick a model. You can overwrite it.

Heating and burners cycle on and off against the thermostat, so the element is not at full draw all day. 0.60 is an assumption, not a measurement — move the slider if your shop behaves differently.

Electricity per year

Electricity cost per year
— USD
Electricity cost per hour
— USD / hour

A planning figure, not a quotation.

How this is calculated

Electricity per year = rated power × hours per day × working days × load factor
Electricity cost per year = electricity per year × price per kWh
Cost per hour = rated power × load factor × price per kWh

What this does not include

  • The rated power comes from the specification sheet we publish; it is not a site measurement.
  • The load factor is an assumption you set, not a reading from your booth.
  • Compressed air, separate lighting circuits and duct pressure losses are not included.
  • For diesel and gas models the fuel cost is not included, because burner consumption is not published.
